WAIC 2023开幕式，特邀微软原执行副总裁、美国国家工程院外籍院士沈向洋，与IEEE主席兼首席执行官赛义夫·拉曼就“AI时代的科技合作”炉边对谈。

往届大会开幕式，沈向洋亦通过炉边对谈形式，邀请一至两位业界的老朋友对话，包括2022年与数学家、菲尔兹奖得主丘成桐，2021年与美国前国务卿亨利·基辛格（Henry Kissinger）及基辛格国际咨询公司资深顾问乔舒亚·雷默（Joshua Cooper Ramo）。

Scientific and Technological Cooperation in the Age of AI

In the age of AI, scientific and technological cooperation has become increasingly important. IEEE is one of the world's largest technical professional organizations with more than 400,000 members. How will the organization promote scientific and technological cooperation and help cultivate talents in the field?

The WAIC 2023 opening ceremony invites Harry Shum, Former Executive Vice President of Microsoft Corporation and Foreign Member of U.S. National Academy of Engineering, to have a fireside dialogue with Saifur Rahman, IEEE President and CEO, on this particular issue.

In the past WAIC opening ceremony, Harry Shum had conducted similar conversations with several old friends, including Mathematician and the Fields Medal winner Shing-Tung Yau in 2022, and former U.S. Secretary of State Henry Kissinger and Senior Advisor of Kissinger Associates Joshua Cooper Ramo in 2021.
